Cloud Experiments and Optimizations

Here’s a quick look at a new feature you’ll discover in FlexSim 2018 Update 2.

We’re very excited to announce that FlexSim can now run experiments and optimizations in the Cloud! Our Simulation Experiment Control now includes an option to Use Distributed CPUs, found in the Advanced tab, where you can connect to other machines to help you process and complete the simulation. You can use Cloud computing, you can use your own computers in a local network, or a combination of both to get the job done.

When would this feature be most useful? If it takes more than a few minutes to run a single replication of your experiment, and if there is a high number of replications, you could see a significant reduction in time by using Distributed CPUs to complete the experiment.

You can use any Cloud computing solution that meets our minimum requirements, but we’ve created a guide with instructions on how to use Amazon Web Services to run your experiment replications. Visit flexs.im/aws to view the guide.
