FlexSim’s Zombies invade Chesapeake libraries
Back in January, we partnered with ModSim Connected to create a simulation game. Through support from the Commonwealth of Virginia, ModSim Connected is trying to enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) skills and showcase modeling and simulation to the youth in Virginia. FlexSim Zombie Attack is the result of months of work and collaboration; it demonstrates the simulation of a manufacturing process, and yet it’s fun and engaging enough to hold the attention of players of any age.
We made the Zombie Attack model available to FlexSim users a while back (click here to download Zombie Attack), but ModSim Connected has made the game available to students in Virginia for the first time through the STEM ModSim Challenge: Chesapeake, VA.
Students can play at one of Chesapeake’s seven area libraries, where they will practice and perfect their strategy throughout the month of August—and also submit their best scores for entry into the next round! On August 22nd, the junior and senior high school players with the best scores at each library will meet in the Zombie Attack Finals. The event will be webcasted live, and the players will compete for notoriety and prizes.
